unchained

for cello with piano accompaniment | 5'

Everyone has barriers. Sometimes, we put up our walls to protect ourselves. But other times, we let them down to intnetionally become vulnerable. Vulnerabilty is one of the greatest gifts that can given to anyone. Even then, vulnerabilty can be misued, mistreated, and abused. Building up thicker walls, it takes longer to let down, not only for others, but for our own self-respect.

unchained begins with a delicate piano solo with a steady quarter note pulse that will be maintained throughout the piece. There are constant pushes and pulls both dymanically and rhythmically that are symbolic of growth. Despite these rhythmic swells, the tempo will have plateau points where it moves forward a bit quicker. Just like in life, we constantly move forward.
