Inspired by Faraway’s book of poems named “sad birds still sing”, isolated joy is an ode to the journey of finding happiness. It depicts how light can shine through the darkest of times. Throughout the piece, there are motivic ostinatos and song-like melodies that aim to touch the heart of a listener that might be feeling lost and hurt in this world.
